My journey to real estate didn’t begin with ambition; it began with survival. What started as a search for safety became a lifelong mission to help others find home.

I come from a family of builders. Seeing the value of a safe, peaceful home is what drew me to real estate in the first place. That desire for safety may come from my childhood in El Salvador, where I was raised during a civil war. I remember being hypervigilant, constantly looking over my shoulder as I walked the streets. Neighbors were killed, and tragedy seemed to touch every corner of the country. Those encounters with death made me appreciate every minute of life. Nothing is guaranteed, and you never know when it might be your last day.
When I became pregnant at 18, El Salvador’s streets were being overtaken by gangs. I knew I had to find a way to give my child a safer future. I took private English lessons while putting myself through college, determined to build a better life. In 1999, an opportunity arose for an American work visa, and I took it. My child, her father, and I moved to Colorado with hope and determination.
Those first years were rough. My Salvadorian college credits weren’t recognized, meaning I would have to start over. As a non-U.S. citizen, I couldn’t get a student loan, and every door seemed to close before it opened. Still, I kept going. I got a job at SEARS Automotive because I spoke both Spanish and English. I studied the language every night, worked hard, and eventually became the top salesperson.

Drawn to the world of real estate, I transitioned into the mortgage industry, where I worked for ten years. I loved helping people achieve homeownership and found the process fascinating. But when the market crashed in 2010, everything came to a halt. No one was buying or refinancing. At the same time, I went through a separation and became a single mother in the middle of a recession. The stress was unbearable—I lost sleep, my appetite, and developed severe headaches. Every extra dollar went toward therapy and acupuncture to keep myself functioning.

As difficult as that time was, it made me stronger and more resilient. I knew I needed to pivot, so inspired by my healing journey, I began working at a gym. At first, I just went there to work out, but soon I was offered a job and eventually became a sales manager. It was a great experience, but after four years, I realized I missed real estate. I also began to see the limits of growth in a male-dominated corporate environment, where my gender and accent didn’t always feel valued.
In 2016, I decided to return to my true calling and got my real estate license. I dove in headfirst—remodeling my own properties, expanding my investment portfolio, and helping clients do the same. What I love most about real estate is not just the business itself, but the relationships. I take pride in helping people find homes that bring them safety, comfort, and joy—the same things I sought when I first came to this country.
Almost a decade later, life feels full and grounded. I’m married to a wonderful man, Troy, who loves motorcycles. We often ride together, with me on the backseat enjoying the scenery. We also love camping and playing board games with our children—Grace, Cristiano, Jordan, Loralai, and Elena. My oldest is 31, and my youngest is in her teens.

I don’t take a single moment for granted. I’m forever grateful that I came to the U.S., where I found the safety and peace I had always longed for. Peace, to me, is priceless. That’s why I prioritize balance, mental health, and a calm state of mind. Every day, I give thanks for what I have—a family I love, a career I’m passionate about, and the freedom to live safely.
I believe buying or selling a home happens in its own time, so I never push for a sale. My focus is on building genuine relationships with clients—many of whom become friends. I stay connected long after closing because I care deeply about the people I serve and want to deliver the best experience possible. I’m always available to listen, offer professional guidance, and help clients feel confident in every decision. Having sold homes across Colorado, I bring extensive knowledge of the state’s diverse regions.
I’m respectful of all perspectives and enjoy working with people from all backgrounds. When it comes to pricing, I rely on data and trusted market sources to ensure accuracy. A lifelong learner, I stay current on real estate regulations and trends. As an investor myself, I’ve developed a vetted network of reliable vendors—contractors, inspectors, and tradespeople—who are available to support my clients. My goal is to provide informed, caring, and comprehensive service from start to finish.
Sincerely,

Maritza Escobar Low
